Hi Everyone! I have been working on my 4 different websites for vintage/antiques, that are linked together. The listings of each website will be picked up in a different google search, which will lead the buyer to see the other website links when th…

Sorry I have not responded sooner. I've been super busy on the internet with sales. I'm not complaining. I'm too tired tonight to go into this deeper. But, you have just posted the main reason why it is so difficult for us people that don't really…

If you're talking about the simple html code, there's not too much to linking. As an example, a link to my site would be written this way: Sharon's Antiques: Vintage Fabrics So all you need are the brackets, the link code a href and the url of th…

Sharon I can find lots of sites to link to.....It's the HOW to link that is the glitch. Is there anywhere that gives SIMPLE instructions on linking? Thank you again for this great discussion. Carolyn

Ruby Lane restricts the number of links to your store, on the other hand, Ruby Lane itself helps your search engine standing and brings you traffic. If you have a free-standing web store, links are that much more important. For all the people that h…

I agree with Carolyn - building links is a challenge and I don't really know where to begin. All help is greatly appreciated Marie

I am going to follow this discussion carefully. Building links has been my most difficult challenge. I've successfully linked my Ruby Lane shop to only 2 other sites. One, a very good friend who has a website and a brick and mortar. Every time I try…

Another way to build links is a "link tree". This involves linking to other people's blogs. As long as they have linked to their store, you have created an indirect link - sort of "second generation". OnlineAuction had a "blog ring" where everyone g…

Hi Sharon -- I was just looking at your Rick Rack website -- and I love it. I'm going to be doing articles on different members in the future, and will definitely choose your site.

And I did put you as a "Featured Member" earlier today, so I am doubly sorry that I sent you my "boilerplate" email. I chose 9 members as 'Featured' in hopes of inspiring newer members to spruce up their pages - so, see, I was really thinking you had a great page.

I've been going to local farm auctions for 15 years now, and used to be able to buy huge stacks of tablecloths and linens -- but about 5 years ago it seems that the prices skyrocketed, and the quantity just wasn't there, either. But with all the piles of linens I have had, have sold, and still have -- I don't think I ever had any feedsack fabric! How can that be? Yours are so cute. You must have stashed them away ages ago... right? or can you still find them? Maybe my fabric radar just doesn't pick them up...

Anyway -- love your website. I am impressed that you were smart enough to start it back in 1998.

Bye now --Marianne Dow msdowantiques.com

Hi Sharon -- first -- my apologies. I was sending friendly reminder messages out to many of the members, trying to generate some activity on AVCOSA. I mean no disrespect. I sent the same message to everyone, and I'm sorry if it wasn't applicable to you.

Point is, we miss you, and hope to "see" you on the site. Meant in the friendliest way-- honestly.

Hope you understand -- and Happy Easter! --Marianne

Hope to see you again on AVCOSA soon. We miss you!

I look forward to reading your "My Page" info, and your Avcosa Blog posts, and all your discussion comments.
You can put more info on your page in the TEXT module, and by clicking the EDIT link on the little PROFILE INFO module to up date your venue links.

Also, in the upper left column, click the CHANGE PHOTO link, then you can add/modify your name and more info.

If I can help in any other way with setting up your page, or anything else -- please leave a comment on my page (just click on my little face pic) -- and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Have fun! --Marianne Dow msdowantiques.com
