"Colourful" -- what a lovely tag. :-) :-) The webinar description, in my reading, leaned very heavily on the automation and SAS (software as service). Isn't what they are talking about something like Channel Advisor ? I'll be happy to hear the res…

This sounds like more "droidkill". Racoon walks across busy highway, splat -- that's roadkill. AV seller walks into online selling, gets hit with "you need" automation -- that's droidkill. Seriously. this webinar brings up a serious question for m…

i'm getting it, but still very muddy. I am a Canadian seller, so a customer will NOT see Bill me on my forms, even if THEY are american. An american seller's buyer WILL see a bill me later option on their form. An american seller's CANADIAN buyer w…

Thanks for touching base, Heather. I appreciate it. I have copied you in email.... but here's the gist. I am somewhat confused. the two pictures relate to two buy buttons from forms. one form, with bill me later, is from an american seller, and it…

Julie, I'd appreciate the attention, but I don't think we'd be best suited as a "case study". So much of what we do is actually intended to sell OFF line, if possible. (no BETTER deal than cash on hand in person is there? finest margin selling I kno…

Julie, since we are B&M as well as online, our thinking is a little different. Our website is our promo avenue - we no longer spend money on promo of any sort other than the website. It garners business province wide (physical) and leads to "some"…

Hi, I'd agree, own web site, and own servers if you can. Today, you can buy an Imac, straight out of box, it has a website built in, flip it on, and get your domain, ready to go.... cost is your domain only (check your internet service, some don't…

just quick addendum. It seems John has left the group... so his comments are gone. My reference above is to an answer where a dealer at a flea market, when asked for a "dealer price" scoffs at the thought, and answers 25% more than marked. thought…

I know you're kinda just kidding John, right? you're kidding right? I go to a flea market to buy.. I bring a wad of cash. I ask for dealer price, I have a card, I have a tax number. I buy, single, in lots, and in bulk. And I always expect dealer p…

I'm guessing there might be a recall on antique furniture soon -- as soon as our fire marshall is warned about the fact the most of it is made of wood, real wood. I can't say we have the time to research items we've put online for sale. When the cr…

Hi Vince -

Welcome back!

I know you deal in antique furniture. I have a old twin sized bed that we picked up at an auction. It has a head board and foot board and 2 side rails that hold it all together. My question is about a mattress. Does the box spring and mattress just sit on the side rails - about 2 inches wide? Does it need cross slats that are somehow attached to the side rails to support the mattress? There is no evidence of any such ever having been there.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me

Well, the whole 9 yards, I guess.
Tweet me at Greenspotting for today's TWEET deals! - Special Secret Code promo.

We run an antiques store/salvage operation in Cambridge, Ontario. Just bought the building, and the reno certainly was a full "salvage" operation in itself. We re-used just about anything we could salvage during demolitions. If you're in town, drop by, it's a nice building. Was originally the Hutchinson's dairy, then Cedar Hill Dairy , and finally the nicest antiques store in cambridge.
